lovable growth tools find customers

Lovable Will Now Go and Find You Customers. Read the Money Part First.

TL;DR: On 14 October Lovable shipped growth tools: ask it how to grow your app and it audits your SEO, writes landing pages, drafts forum and directory posts, builds Google and Meta ad campaigns, and makes the creative. Nothing goes live and nothing is spent until you approve it, and Lovable says it “does not bill you directly or add a service fee to your ad spend.” Available on Free, Pro and Business. The lovable growth tools are genuinely useful — and there are four things to understand before you connect an ad account.

What shipped

Lovable announced growth tools on 14 October. You ask how to find customers; it looks at your goal, your app, your audience and your current traffic, and builds a plan you approve.

The lovable growth tools work in three strands:

Organic and SEO. It checks the technical basics — indexing, metadata, sitemap, robots.txt, Search Console — finds keywords using built-in Semrush, and creates landing pages and content. It also suggests off-site places to be mentioned, such as forums and directories, and drafts the posts for you to publish.

Google Ads. Connects to or creates a Google Ads account, installs a Google Tag, and recommends a campaign type across Search, YouTube and Maps. The docs name Search, Performance Max and Demand Gen.

Meta Ads. Connects your ad account and Facebook Page, adds the Meta Pixel, and builds image and video campaigns for Facebook and Instagram with a Sales, Leads or Traffic objective.

Lovable growth tools make the creative too: images, videos, demos, ad copy and social posts. It researches your topic and proposes three creative directions, or you upload your own.

Why Lovable growth tools close the right gap

We’ve watched the industry work through this list all month, and it’s worth seeing in order.

In October alone, Google made it possible to install an app you built on your own phone, Figma put a database and login behind the prompt, and Bluesky pitched building things that a community can actually see. Every one of those is the same admission: building was never the hard part.

The hardest part, and the last one anybody addressed, is that you finish the thing and nobody comes. Most people in this audience have a working app with no users. The lovable growth tools are the first serious attempt by a builder to own that problem rather than hand you off to it.

So the direction behind Lovable growth tools is right. The details are where you need to pay attention.

The money part

This is the section to read twice, because it involves real money leaving your account.

Lovable doesn’t take a cut, and says so plainly: “Lovable does not bill you directly or add a service fee to your ad spend.” The docs repeat it — “Lovable adds no extra fees for using Growth tools.” Billing happens in your own Google Ads or Meta account.

Nothing spends until you approve it. The docs are specific: “Lovable asks for approval before publishing through connected accounts or creating and changing campaigns.” You set the budget. Lovable summarises budget, locations, languages, goals and tracking before anything starts, and “does not continually change campaigns on its own.”

That is a well-designed gate, and better than it had to be. But understand what it means: the approval is the whole safety mechanism. Click through it quickly and you have authorised an AI-written campaign to spend from your card. Google and Meta optimise delivery inside the campaigns you run, so budget moves around after approval even though Lovable isn’t touching it.

And Lovable growth tools still cost you credits. Building the plan and generating assets uses normal Lovable credits. Ad spend is separate. That’s now two meters running — the same structure Bubble introduced with AI credits this month. Neither is wrong; both need watching.

Four things to check before you connect Lovable growth tools

WhatWhy it matters
The approval screen, slowlyIt’s the only thing between an AI-written campaign and your card. Read the budget, locations and objective every time
What you’re connectingGrowth tools use app and chat connectors for Google Ads, Google Business Profile and Meta. The docs don’t list the specific permissions requested — so you’re approving an OAuth screen without a published scope list
The drafted off-site postsLovable drafts forum and directory posts for you to publish. Read every one before it goes anywhere
Who audited your SEOThe tool checking your site’s technical SEO is the tool that built your site. That’s not disqualifying, but it isn’t independent either

The forum posts deserve their own warning

Of everything in Lovable growth tools, this is the part we’d be most careful with.

An AI that drafts posts for forums and directories, at volume, is one impatient afternoon away from getting you banned. Communities are extremely good at spotting generated promotional posts, and the penalty is usually permanent and reputational rather than technical.

Lovable’s design is right — they’re drafts you publish, not posts it fires off. The docs say that without a suitable connected account, “you send outreach and publish social posts yourself.” So the judgement stays with you. Use it. Post in places you actually belong, rewrite in your own voice, and don’t treat a drafted post as a finished one.

Worth noting too: the docs don’t cover ad platform policy review or compliance at all. Meta campaigns go through Meta’s own review after creation, but nothing in Lovable’s documentation tells you what will or won’t pass.

What it doesn’t do

Usefully, Lovable is clear about the edges:

  • No email campaigns and no referral programmes. Those remain your problem.
  • You need a live site. Traffic, search visibility and campaigns pointing at your app all require a published app.
  • New campaigns have a learning period before they ramp up.
  • Results aren’t promised. The docs say plainly: “Results depend on your offer, market, and budget.”

That last line is the honest one. No amount of generated creative fixes an app nobody wants.

Who should care (and who shouldn’t)

  • You have a finished app and no users: Lovable growth tools are aimed squarely at you, and they’re on the Free plan. Start with the SEO strand, which costs nothing but credits.
  • You’re about to spend on ads anyway: the campaign build is the genuinely time-saving part. The approval discipline is the price.
  • You haven’t launched yet: not yet. Growth tools need a live site, and marketing an unfinished product is how you learn nothing expensively.
  • On another builder: expect your own version of Lovable growth tools within months. Lovable has moved first, not alone.
  • Running ads already with someone who knows what they’re doing: keep them. This replaces nothing you already have working.

Our take

This is the most interesting move a builder has made this quarter, and it’s the one with the sharpest edges.

Shipping a product that builds the app, hosts it, and now goes and finds its customers is a genuinely different proposition from a vibe coding tool. It also quietly changes what Lovable is selling you — not a builder any more, but a route to market. We said something similar when it bought the part of your app that breaks: the company keeps acquiring the next thing its users get stuck on.

Of the Lovable growth tools, we’d use the SEO strand today and approach the ads one slowly. The organic side is low-risk and genuinely tedious work that nobody enjoys. The ads side is an AI writing campaigns that spend your money, and while the approval gate is well built, gates only work if you actually read what you’re approving.

The thing we’d want Lovable to publish is the permission list Lovable growth tools request. The docs describe connecting Google Ads and Meta through connectors but never say what access is requested. For a feature whose entire risk profile is “what can it do in my ad account”, that’s the one page missing.

And the honest expectation to set: this will not find customers for something people don’t want. Lovable says so itself. The most valuable thing Lovable growth tools may do for most readers is make it unmistakably clear, within a fortnight and for the price of some credits, whether the thing they built has a market.

FAQ

Do Lovable growth tools spend my money automatically?

No. Lovable asks for approval before creating or changing campaigns or publishing through connected accounts, and you set the budget. Ad spend is billed by Google or Meta to your own advertising account — Lovable states it does not bill you directly or add a service fee to your ad spend. Building plans and assets does consume normal Lovable credits.

Which plans include Lovable growth tools?

They’re available on Free, Pro and Business plans. On Enterprise, an administrator must first enable app and chat connectors under Connectors in admin settings. Lovable says it adds no extra fees for using growth tools beyond normal chat and credit usage.

What can’t the growth tools do?

They don’t run email campaigns or referral programmes. They need a published, live site for traffic, search visibility and ad campaigns to work. Outreach and social posts are drafts you publish yourself unless you connect a supported account, and Lovable notes that results depend on your offer, market and budget.
